We welcome submissions from all areas of photography research. Helsinki Photomedia 2018 offers various platforms, where artistic, philosophical, social, cultural, economical and technological approaches meet. Conference language is English.

Deadline for 500 word abstracts: 31st of October 2017.

Helsinki Photomedia 2018 is organised by Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in cooperation with four Finnish Universities: University of Tampere, School of Communication, Media and Theatre (CMT); University of the Arts Helsinki; Academy of Fine Arts; and University of Jyväskylä.

Photographic Powers - Helsinki Photomedia 2014 publication 

Photographic Powers is a peer-reviewed publication based on the theme, presentations and lectures given in Helsinki Photomedia 2014 international conference of photography studies. There are 14 articles divided under two sub-themes: Artistic Gestures of Photographic Powers and Media, Techonology and Photographic Powers.
